Smuckers is buying Folgers from Proctor and Gamble.  For 3.3 Billion dollars.  And somehow they are doing it tax-free.

I didn’t bother to read the whole confusing story.  But if you are into these sort of major league plays - it may interest you to see how they are going to do it.

I want to buy my coffee tax free, too!

Folgers might not be your favorite, but they have good market presence and it makes me wonder why P&G would want to sell them in the first place.  Maybe they need the cash.

A barista in St Paul hates the cell phone ringing.  Stephen Schweckendieck manages Coffee News Cafe of St Paul, Minnesota said he was so fed up with people on their cell phones that he made a law you couldn’t use them inside.

Here’s the deal, and I love it.

If you make a call or take a call or text while ordering at the Coffee News, you get a fine - $2 !! and the last place in the coffee line.
