I didn’t bother to read the whole confusing story. But if you are into these sort of major league plays - it may interest you to see how they are going to do it.

I want to buy my coffee tax free, too!

Folgers might not be your favorite, but they have good market presence and it makes me wonder why P&G would want to sell them in the first place. Maybe they need the cash.

Here’s the “scoop“.

Manufacturer Cafe Duran took 300 pounds (136 kgs) of arabica coffee to brew a cup which was 3 yards by 1.6 yards over 4 hours.

Panama’s predominate coffee maker said it thinks it has set a world record for the world’s biggest cup of java, after brewing 750 gallons (2,840 liters) in a huge coffee cup on Sunday.

“We are really thrilled with this, Panama has done it!” Ricardo Duran, director-owner of the firm, said to thundering applause, fireworks and live tropical music.

The debut aims to draw notice to Panama’s small but growing gourmet, estate-grown coffee industry, organizers said. “And the coffee’s actually damn tasty,” said Irma Castillo, a Panama City inhabitant sipping the hot drink as it was given away after the record attempt.

Duran will submit its record-breaking endeavor to officials at Guinness World Records this month. The preceding Guinness record was held by the United States for brewing 660 gallons (2,500 liters) in New York in 1994.
